KNAPSACK MAG IS BACK!

The second installment of comics and illustration anthology KNAPSACK MAGAZINE from Lucky Pocket Press, featuring over 230 pages of comics, illustration, and words from over 28 different artists!

Knapsack Magazine is an anthology series exploring our collective weird-kid nostalgia. These are stories you would read after-school in the car; a new volume of manga you can’t wait to open, with colors, characters, stories and words that are evocative of a not-so-distant but equally bygone era.  Our major inspirations are serialized manga publications, like Shoujo Beat and Shonen Jump, popularized in North America in the 90's and early 2000's. We released Knapsack Vol 1: Cassette last year, and we are so excited to be BACK with Volume 2 now!

This volume will be offset printed in tomato red and lettuce green inks. Each comic is printed in one color, alternating throughout the volume. Everything else is in two colors, and has been made deliberately to mimic the style of risograph printing by utilizing the semi-translucent quality of offset inks.

This volume's theme word is: BUTTER 

Recipes, late night snacks, kitchen appliances, savory & sweet, a baker’s dozen, gingham picnic blankets, measuring cups, kids meal toys, mugs with funny mascots on them, vintage soda labels, a golden spoon, fruits and vegetables, vending machines, farmers markets, easy bake ovens… We asked our artists to follow the theme as closely or as loosely as they'd like.
